Aloha,
Matthew Kanealii-Kleinfelder currently serves as the 5th Hawai’i County Councilmember for the District of Puna.
His story is humble and similar to that of us all - local values, middle-class upbringing in a strong family, hard work and education as a way of supporting the family and a desire to help and service those around him.
He was educated at the University of Hawai’i at Hilo and Hawai’i Community College where he earned his Associate of Arts Degree.
His past was filled with customer service where he learned how to find solutions amidst a sea of personalities; eventually his amiable character earned him a position as lead journeyman electrician for Provision Solar, Inc.
He currently lives in Ola’a on the slopes of Mauna Loa with his wife, Dawn and their two younger children, Adam and Maya.
