EMERGENCY FOOD & SHELTER United Way Hawai'i Island United Way Phase 39 Funds Available Hawaii County has been granted $98,214.00 by FEMA, U. S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency, to supplement Emergency Food & Shelter Programs (EFSP). Under terms of the grant from the National Board, qualifying agencies must: 1) Be private voluntary nonprofits or units of the government; 2) Be eligible to receive Federal funds; 3) Have an accounting system; 4) Practice non-discrimination; 5) Have demonstrated the capacity to deliver EFSP Programs; 6) If nonprofit, a voluntary board is required; 7) Have a DUNS Number; 8) Agency must have a valid email address; and 9) Agency must have an active bank account with EFT in place.
